Ohhh yeh tech time

The tech has now started and is slow as always but hey that’s just the way things go.
This show has shown me one clear point you put days of programming in and in return you just have to press the button GO+

Grand MA

Plotting session one is currently still on the go because of knowledge and understanding of the grand MA, in other words things have been delayed due to cues not recording to plan.
This was due to me being showed the wrong way to correctly store and updated the desk.

Not anyones fault really but this stuff should be taught by MA and not staff or students because the desk is just such a total mind f**k to novice lighten users.

I feel the teams been let down due to this and makes me look silly but theirs really nothing I could have done, luckily Doug was in and showed me the correct process of saving these so thanks Doug.

Least I am slowly learning it but I know just the basics, I need proper training if I want to survive in the industry and getting lighten jobs.

Will keep my grand ma fails updated as these are good for reflecting.

Just one of these f**king mornings :(

Omg I hate being freaking rushed around in mornings as I feel so dirty when I leave the house.

It’s mainly my fault cause I didn’t get to bed till late last night because I finishing off the solstheim recording with the band so we edited late into the night and I drove the members home cause am kl that way, well least it’s all finished now and will be lanuched soon.
I feel so dirty cause I never got my stuff ready for the morning so had to grab the same old clothes which are rather dirty cause I was setting fireworks of last night and was rollin around alot lol.

Anywho need to move on to the future now uni should Be the same again as we never finished plotting since their are just so many freaking lights lol but rig looks pretty cool so am happy just don’t really do much as am stuck behind my lighting desk witch is still pretty scary.

Am going now cause I just can’t be assed anymore trains to freaking tight lol

Omg behemoths new album is just poewrful

Yeh man the album is so powerful and is record with like he best black metal engineer in the world. Sweden and Norway are so productive and create everything I like about time that’s move over lol, maybe work placement ?

Well on a lite notes uni was ok yesterday as I did get alone time on MA and learn how to set up it’s stage screen but I still can’t remember how to create a new shown lmao but over time I shall.
Was also Reading a blog in the net about metallicas tour and how their programmer is like one of the best ever so need to try and locate his email or something as he could help with any any MA questions.
Well as far as I know today’s plot and focus so might got pretty slow who knows.

Finally I got my camera today really need more footage for my grad show project so ever 2 weeks will be camera day as long as I have something worth while recording.

Tannoy is like the biz :D

Yeh I finally got my tannoys fixed like a week ago but thought I would just let everyone know cause they sound AMAZING and their also going to be part of grad show so heads up people. omg their just amazing.

Lx lanuch has been going on and theirs way to many people working on it which means less jobs for me , getting to patch and programme this time so that will be new. Not really worrying at all about this show should flow pretty smoothly without any mistakes, that’s one good thing, I am more confident about my work now since I know theirs loads of new people who know less (mean thought).
Trying to get work sorted for this summer as I need some industry experiance under my wing so will keep you posted on that.

That’s me heading in today even though I should be off, need some one on one with the MA

Hey chiz whats up

I yet again had more training in workshop but this time it was more based around hand tools and learning to make things flush so you don’t create trip hazards for crew and performers.
been good so far but not learned anything that new as I already have these skills but I guess am learning a safer way to use them. Today I will be putting a door into it’s frame something that I have done loads of times before but hey I might learn something new here’s hoping

Wetwetwet with a hint of wood

Why does it always rain on days you don’t expect lol what’s the world coming to. Well onto the important stuff yesterday was workshop training pretty boring but useful one of those horrible mixes but least am finally getting signed of on basic equpiment. Really annoying thing is haven the same training before like from school and my joiner app but since academy don’t have proof I need to do it all again. I better never need to do it again but I know at some point I will , not in uni but on some type of freelance contract. I just hope that if I need futher training on some machines they will help me get it before I leave well here’s hoping.

Cold mornings and busy trains

Boy is it cold could hardly could move out bed but as always forced myself up for another amazing uni day.
Reflexton on last I must say that I was pretty happy with the amount of knowledge that I managed to suck up. Still don’t enjoy tsm anymore than i did from opera 3, well that’s not true I do like automation but don’t really see that as tsm. I do look forward to more training with steve and Simon as they both know so much about their choosen subject. Hope that we get some rope access class for safety is number one (of course).
As of today I get some lovely work shop training that I have wanted every since first year so can’t wait to get my wee name signed off and learn some new things about why wood is good. Well that’s me for today as I have final warmed up that’s because I have a millon bodys crushed next to me on this train lol god I hate public transport.

Lets keep it quick

Hey again first blog since starting uni again so might be abit rusty.
Didn’t really have to much time for a full blog so sort and sweet all the way. Uni was good on the first bad back apart from my lack of industry knowledge so as of today I will be getting some form of industry mag to learn these namesa nd what’s going on in the industry.
Simon is a great sample of how knowledge equals pure power lol nah it shows that your on top of your job and can have lenghty discussions in great detail after all that’s what impresses people.
Day 2
What a day pure soild lighting facts and information that I so badly needed to sucuessfully finish my lighting Opp role on the seagul. I can now understand the grand ma well not really but just need my single hands on time really. Never got anytime on lights in first year apart from rigging so need to make up lost ground and up my game.
Apart from all the learning I fell that I got on very well with Simon and Christen which is something that is important as these people will need to Guide and teach me everything to make me sucessful in the industry. So here’s hopeing they do just that :p
